Taiwan 5D4N Itinerary & Budget + Travel Guide

Taiwan has been on our bucket-list ever since it opened it’s doors to Philippine passport holders. Meaning, Filipinos could enjoy visa-free entry to Taiwan for up to 14 days, but only for a trial period which was until July 2018 only. We missed the trial period but it seemed Taiwan really wanted to see us so visa-free privilege was extended until July 2019! Taiwan Trip Summary Our trip consisted of Taipei City, Taichung, Yangmingshan, and Northeast tour. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights at King Plaza Hotel, a budget hotel famous for Filipino tourists. We spent around 18,000 PHP per person including airfare, travel tax, hotel accommodation, transportation, food, tours,…

Tita Mae’s Kitchen | A Casual Buffet Resto in Caloocan

It happened that we had to go to Caloocan to purchase necessary stuff for our internet shop. As always, looking for a nice place to eat nearby would be unavoidable. I searched the internet and found Koko Kofi which looked very interesting and just 10-min drive from Cheapid Computer (our suking tindahan ng kompyuter 😜). However, upon reaching the said restaurant, it was closed as it was Monday. Good thing there’s a buffet restaurant just beside it that looked equally compelling: Tita Mae’s Kitchen. Basic Buffet is priced at 199 Php which includes 9 main course dishes, rice (plain & java), assorted dimsum, salad, and fruits. But if those aren’t enough…

Pizza Volante in Wright Park, Baguio City

Not really a part of our Baguio tour, we found Pizza Volante when we inquired for horseback riding rates at Wright Park. Unfortunately, the horses looked tired and stressed so we just looked for a good place to eat nearby. The restaurant is fronting Wright Park Horse Stable which is very strategic since people would normally starve after horseback riding. With the city’s naturally cool weather, who wouldn’t want to experience alfresco dining in Baguio? Another aspect that captured my interest upon seeing the resto. Not to mention I was craving for pizza! Pizza Volante came at the right time, in the right place! Upon entering the place, a wait…

Explore Baguio on a Motorbike with 175 Php Budget

Dubbed as the Summer Capital of the Philippines due to its cool mountain weather, Baguio surely has a lot of amazing things to offer. Pine trees were found in every corner of the city lending it the nickname “City of Pines”. There’s no shortage of parks and restaurants where people could spend quality time with their family and barkada. Bunch after bunch of fresh strawberries are found everywhere in the market. True enough, it’s too beautiful that staying here for a day wouldn’t be enough. We had a family vacation in Baguio way back 2004. And now after 15 years, I’m finally back! But this time not for a vacation.…

JoyBus Premier Class Experience + How To Book Online

Travel time to Baguio usually takes 7-8 butt-numbing hours from Manila. Thanks to JoyBus, we can now reach Baguio within 4-5 hours! This is because stop-overs won’t be needed anymore as each bus unit has a comfort room on board and snacks and drinking water were provided for free. In our case, travel time only took about less than 4 hours (from Cubao) as our schedule was very early in the morning (2:30AM). What I Liked Aside from having a comfort room and free snacks and drinking water, blankets were also provided for added comfort as it could really get cold at the bus. The blankets are thick enough and…

ChizMozza | Satisfy Your Mozzarella Cheese Cravings

Aside from its witty and catchy name (as it sounds like chismosa which is a filipino/spanish word for someone who loves to gossip), what really caught my attention is their product itself. People often associate mozzarella cheese with pizza and pasta dishes. Not many people would think about shaping it into bite-size and sticks, cover it with crunchy coating, and sell it as their main snack product. The name ChizMozza actually came from Mozzarella Cheese. Not so hard to figure out, right? Mozzarella Bites and Mozzarella Sticks According to the staff, their best sellers are the Mozzarella Bites and Mozzarella Sticks. This snack is crunchy on the outside, cheesy and…

Pan de Amerikana | Upside Down Restaurant in Katipunan Ave

I’ve been considering this restaurant ever since I discovered it from a friend way back when I was still working in Libis, Quezon City (that’s 2 years ago). It’s just few kilometers away from my workplace (Calle Industria), but let’s not dig deeper as to why it never transpired because I myself can’t explain either. 😅 Now that I’m not based in QC anymore that the plan finally took place (what an irony). It’s when I was scheduled to get my separation pay from my previous company and we had to look for an interesting place to eat lunch nearby after the appointment. So the age-old idea of hitting up…
