Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be in a Komiks? There’s a Pinoy Komiks-inspired cafe in Bulacan that will instantly make you feel like you’re in a comic strip! Komiks 2D Art Cafe serves comfort food and beverages in a room painted with comic murals from floor to ceiling, making you feel like you’ve suddenly stepped into a fictional colorful world of Philippine comics!
What to see inside Komiks 2D Art Cafe
Komiks 2D Art Cafe’s design takes inspiration from objects we commonly have inside our homes. You would see cabinets, shelves, plants, bags hanging on the wall, even a cat lazing in the sala. And since it’s in San Jose del Monte, there’s a huge window with a view of the famed Grotto Church!
Let me share you some of the photos we took inside the cafe. I’m pretty sure you’re already planning to visit so here are some shots to help you plan ahead your photo-op poses. Be as witty as possible and enjoy the fun and vibrant ambiance at Komiks 2D Art Cafe!
As you would notice, even the tables and chairs were painted to look like 2D. The idea is to draw bold lines on all the edges, and not forget to paint the floor tiles with border lines as well! It was funny that they even managed to make the airconditioner look like 2D!
If you’re planning to visit soon, my tip is to arrive as soon as they open at 11 am. The cafe gets packed with more customers in the afternoon until their closing time! So to make sure you maximize your visit and photo-op sessions, get there during wee hours. Or you can always go back until you’re satisfied!
Food & Drinks
At first, we honestly lowered down our expectations on food. We had this perception that if a restaurant has a certain theme, there’s a huge chance that food quality might be compromised since the efforts are focused on the “theme”.
But you know what? Komiks 2D Art Cafe changed that perception! The quality and taste of the food and drinks they serve actually exceeded our expectations.
Served on the table were:
- Komiks Burger Meal (Black Quarter Pounder Burger, Black Milktea, & Black Fries)
- Quarter Pounder Burger (Pink)
- Super Long Fries
- Pepperoni Deluxe Pizza
- Korean Corndog
- Ube Ice Scramble
It was amazing that all of these were served in about 15 minutes, hot and fresh! The server seemed experienced and works fast (and such a pretty face!). We went there at 11am so that could also be a factor. Everything tasted great, but my personal favorites are the Quarter Pounder Burger and Ube Ice Scramble. Jec liked the Black Quarter Pounder Burger with Black Milktea and Black Fries!
We also appreciate that their pricing is reasonable and affordable. The food, ambiance, and service are worth every penny! They have a wide selection of comfort food and drinks, even some unique offerings such as the Super Long Fries, Ice Scrambles in different flavors, Korean Corndogs, and so much more!
You see that everything here is colorful: the murals and even the food and beverages! It was such a fun, colorful, and gastronomic experience. So happy that we dropped by!
