#TAIWANdering Day3: Yangmingshan + Taipei City Short Trip

Our main goal for Yangminshan trip is to catch sight of cherry blossoms as I’ve heard that plenty of sakura trees can be expected to bloom in the said place. We actually had a flexible itinerary for our day 3. That in case we succeed in seeing cherry blossoms in Taichung on our day 2, we can skip Yangmingshan the next day so we can try other activities like hotspring trip (Tamsui) or cable car ride (Maokong Gondola). Since we had a wonderful cherry blossom experience in Taichung, we can head over to either Tamsui or Maokong Gondola instead of Yangmingshan. But I don’t know our Yangmingshan trip still pushed…

Taipei Foodtrip | Ningxia Night Market

Just a block away from our hotel (King Plaza) there’s a night market packed with delicious finds: Ningxia Night Market. The place is always filled with customers which is a good indicator for quality and taste. It’s not as popular as other night markets like Shilin, Ximending, Shida, etc., but we definitely had a great food tour experience here! Most foodstuffs were being cooked right in front of you so you wouldn’t help but try as many food as you can as they all smell yummy! It was actually quite hard to decide which one to eat first. The first one we tried was the Roasted Beef. Beef cut into…

#TAIWANdering Day 2: Zhongshe Flower Market & Tai’an Cherry Blossoms

Witnessing cherry blossoms was an old-age dream that came true just recently. To catch sight of this once a year wonder, people often apply for visa and flock to Japan or Korea which are among the usual go-to places for sakura viewing. Not many people do know that there’s this small-but-INCREDIBLE country that’s a sakura haven too: Taiwan! And fortunately enough, Taiwan extended visa-free privilege for Filipinos until July 31, 2019. Ever since I’ve heard about it, just the thought of witnessing cherry blossoms and experiencing a different season besides summer and rainy brings so much excitement and kilig! Our First Spring Trip Not only that we’ve got to see…

#TAIWANdering Day 1: Chiang Kai Shek (With Cherry Blossoms), Hangzhou Xiao Long Bao, & Feng Wang Pineapple Cakes

We all know that in every trip, first day is always the most exciting and energetic day especially when you travel to a certain destination for the first time. And add the fact that it’s our first international travel, our excitement was beyond description! Result? We were super early at the airport! We heard that Philippine immigration is too strict nowadays so we made sure we’re prepared now that I’m an ✔️unemployed ✔️woman ✔️first time traveling abroad. Same with Jeric, only that he’s not a woman. 😅 Thank God we were not put on-hold at the Philippine immigration. As a matter of fact, our interview did not even last a minute!…

Taiwan 5D4N Itinerary & Budget + Travel Guide

Taiwan has been on our bucket-list ever since it opened it’s doors to Philippine passport holders. Meaning, Filipinos could enjoy visa-free entry to Taiwan for up to 14 days, but only for a trial period which was until July 2018 only. We missed the trial period but it seemed Taiwan really wanted to see us so visa-free privilege was extended until July 2019! Update: Visa-free privilege is extended until July 2020!   Taiwan Trip Summary Our trip consisted of Taipei City, Taichung, Yangmingshan, and Northeast tour. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights at King Plaza Hotel, a budget hotel with good location and comfortability. We spent around 18,000 PHP (≈10,760…

Tita Mae’s Kitchen | A Casual Buffet Resto in Caloocan

It happened that we had to go to Caloocan to purchase necessary stuff for our internet shop. As always, looking for a nice place to eat nearby would be unavoidable. I searched the internet and found Koko Kofi which looked very interesting and just 10-min drive from Cheapid Computer (our suking tindahan ng kompyuter 😜). However, upon reaching the said restaurant, it was closed as it was Monday. Good thing there’s a buffet restaurant just beside it that looked equally compelling: Tita Mae’s Kitchen. Basic Buffet is priced at 199 Php which includes 9 main course dishes, rice (plain & java), assorted dimsum, salad, and fruits. But if those aren’t enough…

Pizza Volante in Wright Park, Baguio City

Not really a part of our Baguio tour, we found Pizza Volante when we inquired for horseback riding rates at Wright Park. Unfortunately, the horses looked tired and stressed so we just looked for a good place to eat nearby. The restaurant is fronting Wright Park Horse Stable which is very strategic since people would normally starve after horseback riding. With the city’s naturally cool weather, who wouldn’t want to experience alfresco dining in Baguio? Another aspect that captured my interest upon seeing the resto. Not to mention I was craving for pizza! Pizza Volante came at the right time, in the right place! Upon entering the place, a wait…
