When you itch for a time-off and wish to go out there but you can’t because of unfavorable weather, a dreamyย staycation automatically becomes an option. It’s always been a trend nowadays, and equally enjoyable even on a nice weather! Now we’ve found an all-season recreation to enjoy!
There’s a cute and insta-worthy hotel in Pasay called Selah Pods Hotel which I’ve found through Zen Rooms. It’s cute in appearance, as well as in size so you are allowed take it literally.
It may look grand in photos but it really is just a budget hotel perfect for budget-conscious folks seeking forย simple staycation.
Selah Pods Hotel’s Deluxe Twin Room with View
We stayed in their Deluxe Twin Room w/ View which is a loft-type room with one double bed and one single bed. It has a flat screen TV with cable, personal ref, and in-room safe where you could store your extra-important belongings. Electric kettle, mugs, teaspoons, and bottled water were also provided.
Complete with bath items as well as towels and complimentary indoor slippers โ this room has everything you would be needing for a comfortable stay.

For the WiFi connection, you will still need to request a voucher at the front desk. They give one voucher for each person.
The room was sparkly clean and the aircon was cool enough. Hot shower was also available and has good water pressure. So as far as comfortability is concerned, I could give this room a double thumbs up.
The room is classy yet minimalist. With white and cream color combination, it kinda creates a warm look and at the same time relaxing to the eyes.ย The room is not the most spacious one, just enough for its capacity.

If you want to book this same room-type, you may find itย here. You can also get 10% discount when you use the Voucher Codeย HOWSHEWANDERS upon booking.

Amenities
Swimming pool is located at the 11th floor. It’s just a small 4-ft deep pool, so don’t expect much. The view from the pool is stunning though, especially at night.
They are super strict about swimming attire so if you really plan to use the pool, make sure to bring proper swim wear. Or else, you won’t be able to use the facility no matter how much you’ve paid for your stay.

We noticed a not so pleasant smell just around the pool area. We suspect it’s from the synthetic grass installed on the floor as water could sip in underneath, or maybe not?
Just beside the swimming pool is the hotel bar and restaurant with TV. We spent few minutes there, savoring the view of the lighted city at night.

Another interesting feature of this hotel is their “sky pods” which you could ride and even have a snack while on board the pods. We didn’t tried it though, as we didn’t want to scare Tita Dolly and Tita Ling. But thanks to its cuteness, we enjoyed taking photos!

There are indoor swing chairs available at the hallway so if you ever need a quick rest, you can easily find something to sit on. Also great for picture taking!
There’s also an arts and crafts corner at the 8th floor where people could lounge as well and take good photos. So cute and artsy!
Just at the opposite side of the arts and crafts corner is where breakfast buffet is being served. But do note that breakfast isn’t automatically included upon booking. If you want to try their breakfast buffet, you will need to pay an additional 320 Php per person. If not, there’s a 7-Eleven store nearby where you could have your favorite comfort food.

And for those who plan to bring their own wheels, you don’t have to worry about the parking because they have ample parking space for hotel guests.
Service
While we had a comfortable and insta-worthy staycation, it’s still important for me to tell the truth about the service. We sure had a smooth and easy check-in process, but issues existed upon check-out.
There happened to be a menstrual stain on the bed, which of course, was not intended and even too embarrassing for any woman. To make this straight, they charged us 500 Php for that single linen stain. I’m aware that hotels do really charge for stains due to improper use. But totally not for blood stains as periods do come irregularly and it’s a part of every woman’s life, or maybe not?
We waited long enough to see other customers complaining for the slow process. It was check-out hours but the number of crew at the front desk was just the same as in wee hours. Some even got mad already. It was an unhealthy scene to witness.
That being said, I suggest you don’t schedule another trip after check-out to avoid stress. Or maybe, just try another hotel from Zen Rooms.
Verdict
If you want to just relax and spice-up your IG feed, this hotel is recommended for you. We definitely had a comfortable stay in our room and fun photo-ops! But don’t set high expectations about the service and common facilities.
