Songdowon Korean Restaurant is a high-grade samgyeopsal place that established its name in Pasay City. They recently opened a new branch in Quezon City and we’re glad we participated in their grand opening which was held last August 2, 2019 (so yes, another late post).
As you would notice, we’ve been visiting a lot of samgyeop places lately which somehow makes you think, “aren’t they sick and tired of it?” I totally understand because I once asked that to myself either!
But to tell you truthfully, every samgy we’ve had are different; which means new experience every single time. And now, another samgy experience have found its place in our food journey!
Food & Price
Food quality is bordering between very good and excellent. It was actually my first time to have a thick-cut samgyeopsal meats. I never knew I’d love it as much as I loved the paper-thin meats! It sure takes longer time to cook but its rich taste makes the wait worthwhile!
Their samgyeopsal sets comes with unlimited cheese. It wasn’t melted though so we still need to heat it. But I appreciate that it’s actually mozzarella cheese; so perfect with thick-cut meats!
An array of delectable side dishes, fresh lettuce wraps, rice, and dips were served promptly. It’s also worth mentioning that their kimchi seemed freshly made in their resto! No wonder why even celebrities enjoy dining here!

You can enjoy unlimited samgyeopsal SET A for 1,200 Php and SET B for 1,600 Php. Both sets are good for 2 to 3 persons. SET A includes Aged Smoked Pork Belly, Aged Pork Jowl, Aged Pork Neck, and Aged Spicy Pork Belly. SET B includes everything in SET A plus Aged Smoked Pork Belly and Seasoned Pork Belly. Both sets include side dishes and cheese!
They actually have an ongoing promo that varies each day of the week. Opening promo runs until August 31, 2019.

Ambiance
It’s a typical Korean Grill restaurant with just a minimal interior decorations but definitely looks classy! The red exhaust tubes each equipped with light bulbs seemed to serve as their trademark look. It’s nice that each table has own lighting so you have the freedom to turn it on or off.
They also have VIP-looking dining spaces good for up to 8 people. Great option if you like a more private space for your friends and family get together.
It’s huge enough that it could serve up to 150 people dining simultaneously. I’m actually not sure about the exact capacity, but the restaurant is definitely huge!

Service
Their service is as great as their food. Everyone was courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant could easily be packed with hungry customers on weekends so we may expect a little more waiting game.
Location
It was a relief that the restaurant is easily accessible as it is just a short walk away from EDSA.
It’s also near ABS-CBN so who knows you might catch-up with your favorite kapamilya artists!
