Last week, we went to Makati to have that much-needed relaxing staycation with the fambam. It was very timely as I’ve gained enough Airbnb travel credits to use for my next booking. So I looked for a condo unit located on a high floor with great city view and nice pool. While browsing through Airbnb listings, I found a unit at The Beacon Makati that matches those basic requirements of mine, plus with a bonus New York-themed interiors!

The Beacon Makati Staycation Experience

The unit is situated on 39th floor of Arnaiz Tower; high enough to have a bird’s eye view of Makati City. It’s a studio-type airconditioned room with kitchen, one double-bed with pullout bed, flat-screen TV with cable, comfort room with hot shower, and thoughtful interior design!

Great timing to play with colors when the sun completely sets and the surroundings turn into blue hue!

As per the owners, the unit is only good for 2 persons but people usually tag along 2 more so they decided to provide an additional pullout bed.

It had a nice city view from the window which makes a great morning coffee/hot choco session. The aircondition is too cool that it’s almost impossible not to crave for a hot drink!

Guests are free to cook food inside which is a super plus point for us. The kitchen is equipped with induction stove, rice cooker, microwave, electric kettle, and fridge with freezer. Range hood is also installed to prevent the whole space from being covered with smoke when we cook.

The comfort room was clean and had thoughtful touches too (which I forgot to take pictures). The shower area has glass enclosure so you can expect a neat and dry toilet and flooring.

A cabinet is also available so guests could have something to store clothes and luggage. I also loved the dimming lights in the bed area so you can adjust its brightness according to your liking.

It also has a floor-to-ceiling mirror at the door area which somehow creates a wide space illusion. My mom and sis liked it because they can both use the mirror simultaneously!

Moreover, no need to bring plates, utensils, cups, mugs, glasses, knives, spatulas, ladles, pots, pans, salt, pepper, cooking oil, dish-washing liquid, and even drinking water as those are already made available by the owner. How convenient?

Also complete with toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, and toothpaste. Bath towels were also provided in case you forgot to bring (but always make sure to bring your own towels for hygienic purposes).

Let’s now go outside the room!

Swimming Pool Area

Access to swimming pool is also included in our stay so no additional charge required. The pool is 4-ft deep and huge. It has a nice playful shape too that is worth the gram! One of the most important factor for a pleasurable staycation.

I loved that we don’t need to fly a drone to capture the whole pool area. We only need to take an elevator to higher floors and take photos from the windows at the elevator waiting area!

Jeric first went up to 10th floor but found out the angle is still too close so he went up to 15th floor to capture the entire pool in one frame while I stayed at the pool area.

The pool is open from 6am until 10pm. We attempted for a night swimming but turned out that only Jeric was able to endure the cool winds! By the way, the pool is situated at the 6th floor.

Jeric noticed that I felt terrible not being able to swim, so he just took a picture of me while he’s on the water.. Night swimming turned into picture taking. We made sure to wake-up early the next day so we could enjoy the pool as well!

Roof Deck Area

If you think the city view from our room is nice already, wait until you go up to the roof deck! You won’t say it’s nice, but rather, awesome!

The roof deck’s Sky Lounge is a perfect place for quiet time, work (if you’re an online worker), or simply resting. It was clean and well-kept. The place gets filled up with tenants at 5pm onwards as most of them works just nearby.

Other condo amenities

Aside from swimming pool and Sky Lounge, registered guests could also access kiddie playground, kiddie pools, meditation garden, and jogging path for free. The gym is also accessible with additional payment of 100 Php per day.

Check-in and check-out schedule is 2pm and 11am respectively. Self check-in/out instructions are provided by the owner once your booking is confirmed.

Unfortunately, overnight parking space is not available from the building. In our case, we parked our vehicle at the Makati Cinema Square just behind The Beacon (just a 5-min walk). Free parking from the building is just good for 1 hour.

Makati Cinema Square Parking Rates:
40 Php for first 2 hours
20 Php/hr for succeeding hours

We paid a total of 440 Php for overnight parking (total of 22 hours).
